Q: What is SugarShock™?

A: SugarShock The Sports Bra that Works™, is a revolutionary advancement in technology and design for women who wear sports bras. The Next Generation of sports bras. While most women have struggled with sports bras not working, SugarSports engineered a new sports bra that helps reduce breast motion. A shock absorber is built into the bra.

Q: How does it work?

A: SugarShock™ was engineered with a unique interior structure. It has a built-in shock absorber that actually reduces the motion of the breast weight. It does this by capturing the energy generated in the breast weight motion and dispersing it around the body. Reducing the initial upward movement of the breast weight reduces the subsequent drop of that same weight. This engineered solution reduces “bounce” and helps control motion. The physical benefits are obvious, but what users also notice is an increased ability to focus on their activities, without the distraction caused by the motion of their breast weight.

Q: How did you think of this?

A: At my very first triathlon a friend took a picture of me coming across the finish line – WOW! That picture made me realize that I needed a better sports bra! So, before every race I looked for a new sports bra. I can remember looking everywhere for something new, anything new that was going to be different. There was nothing. That’s when I started designing my own sports bras.

Q: What do you mean by “It Feels Different Because It Is Different™?”

A: The “shock absorber” puts downward pressure on the top of the breast; around the torso. Breast tissue has weight. When the breast weight begins to undulate, the shock absorber helps to control the movement. This unique construction means that SugarShock™ will feel different when you put it on, but trust me, you’re going to love how it works!

Q: Is it comfortable?

A: Yes! It is comfortable. When you feel the difference and realize that you can forget about breast motion, and focus on your activity, you will be amazed at how much your other sports bras don’t work.

Q: What fabrics do you use?

A: SugarSports uses only high-quality, moisture wicking sports fabric. All of the major sportswear manufacturers use similar “blends” of fabric. As a smaller, privately-owned company, we invest in the product, because we believe our customers will appreciate the quality. Our custom, interior lining fabric was selected for its comfort and moisture control, and it is used in all of our SugarShock™ sports bras.

Q: I heard a “rip” when I put on my SugarShock™ sports bra the first time!

A: I know, I know! I’m sorry. We didn’t know there was a choice in label material (seems obvious now), so the original labels are made from non-stretch material. What you hear is the “size, care, and content labels” being stretched. The thread “pops” the label material when you put on the bra the very first time. I assure you, there is nothing wrong with your sports bra. The thread is not breaking – I promise! We will be using a different material for all future labels.

Q: Is it washable/dryer safe?

A: Washer safe, You bet it is! SugarShock™ is made from a comfortable, soft durable material that can be washed. We know you will use it over and over, and wash it over and over. We recommend that you do not dry on high heat, but air dry SugarShock™. Please see the Care Instructions. I accidentally sent mine to the dry cleaners! It survived, but I don’t recommend this! Stick with washing and air drying! (Care Instructions are provided in your SugarSports package.)

Q: Do your sizes run “true”?

A: Our sizes are based on standard American sizes – available in XS, S, M, and L. However, we do provide a little more length in the front panel of our SugarShock™ sports bras, in case our customers have a bit more “surface area” in the front. This means they fit better.

Q: Can I get SugarShock™ in an XL?

A: We are currently still working on our XL size solution. Honestly, we had intended to have an XL offering by now, but we were not satisfied with the results of our prototypes. SugarSports is serious about providing women with a real solution to the issues of breast movement. Some of our XL ladies are struggling to control more than 20 pounds of breast weight, so we want to provide a sports bra that’s engineered just for them. We want to encourage women to be as active as they can be and that starts with being comfortable.

Q: I ordered the wrong size.

A: Sometimes that happens. See our Size Guide for more information. We highly encourage “exchanges”, see our Return Policy, next question down.

Q: What is your Return Policy?

A: We accept returns/exchanges 20 days from the shipping date, but we highly encourage “exchanges.” To make an exchange or return: (1) the bra can’t be worn (you can’t wear it to a marathon and then exchange/return it, sorry). It must have all tags still attached and be in sellable condition. (2) There can’t be any sweat or make-up stains. (3) We highly encourage “exchanges.” Because a sports bra is intimate apparel, we cannot accept a sports bra that has been worn. If a garment has simply been “tried on” (with ALL tags still attached) it can be exchanged for a different size. A restocking fee of 20% applies to all “returned” items.

Q: Does SugarSports have a store? Is SugarShock™ available in retail stores?

A: SugarSports currently sells SugarShock™ sports bras online and at events, such as fitness expos, equestrian shows, triathlons, etc. SugarShock™ is not available at any retailer at this time.

Q: Is it safe to put my credit card number on this brand new website?

A: Yes. Our website is protected with the latest SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) security which means your personal information is protected. See our Privacy Policy for more information. We don’t store any of your credit card information (that’s handled by our payment processor, Stripe, we think they are terrific) and we will never share your personal information with anyone else.

Q: Can I use PayPal to buy SugarShock™?

A: SugarSports uses Stripe as its online payment processor. That means you can use a number of major credit cards, however PayPal is not supported through Stripe. We apologize for any inconvenience and we hope you’ll still give SugarShock™ a try. You’ll love it!

Q: How can I track my order?

A: Please provide an accurate email address with your order and we’ll send you the carrier’s tracking number for your package.

Q: What is the Shipping & Handling fee?

A: This shipping cost covers USPS (U.S. Mail) standard shipping rates, packaging, inspection, and care of your sports bra up to the time we deliver it to USPS.

Q: How will you ship my SugarShock™ sports bra?

A: United States Postal Service or if you pay an additional fee, we will ship it to you via FedEx or USPS Priority.

Q: Can I get overnight shipping on my SugarShock™ sports bra?

Q: My order arrived incomplete or damaged.

A: Take a deep breath. This makes us crazy too! We want to make things right! Q: What is your privacy policy?

A: We will never share your information with a third party – at any time! We hate those phone calls too. So, all your information stays between you and me.

Q: What colors are offered?

A: Currently, SugarShock™ is produced in two configurations, our original design, which is offered in a beautiful shade
of BLUE, as well as a great-looking BLACK that’s emblazoned with our effervescent “Sugar” logo pattern. Our “phone pocket” design, is available in PINK (with a black lower band) and classy WHITE. Q: Can our sports team get “custom” color SugarShock™ sports bras?

Q: Who is Trish Hawkins?

A: Trish is the real inventor of the SugarShock™ sports bra. She’s a small-town Texas girl with a lot of energy and drive. Her path has taken her around the world, in positions ranging from student to administrative to fashion model to corporate. She works incredibly hard at everything she does. Trish loves dogs; she’s had serious working dogs and her current dog “Argus,” who’s not much of a worker at all. She’s an outdoor enthusiast who likes sports fishing, hiking, biking, and swimming. She’s a top-notch chef and a major foodie. She’s an exercise junkie who loves an occasional donut, and a compassionate volunteer. She’s a loving wife and stepmom to a country-rock artist. Trish loves to engage with her customers and is hands-on at every level of her company. SugarSports is her dream and she thanks all of you for making it possible. Her zest for life can be summed up in her motto, “C’mon everybody, it’ll be fun!”

Q: What does patent mean?

A: SugarShock™ has a patented technology, as stated on all of our marketing materials and labels. Our bra is patented for the specific engineering solutions utilized in our SugarShock™ product, it has a U.S. Patent Office registration and legal protection from others who may try to duplicate or replicate our technology. In other words, this legal protection prohibits other manufacturers from selling a product that uses our ideas. Sports bras have been around for a long time, and frankly, they don’t work very well. SugarSports took the time to research, engineer, and manufacture “The Sports Bra that Works.™” So, not only would it be illegal, but it wouldn't be nice to rip-off a great woman that is helping so many other women!

Q: What’s the SugarSports music?

A: The SugarSports theme, entitled “Break Ground” was written and produced especially for SugarSports by Mitchell Rose and Marc Schneider. Mitchell Rose has a great new sound and we are excited to work with him on the development of our theme and “sound." We love our music!

Q: Where were the SugarSports videos shot?

A: We continue to add to our beautiful SugarSports videos and photography. Most of what you’ve seen was likely produced in California, near Laguna Beach. Our models and crew did a great job, even with some sketchy and cold weather! We had a lot of great assistance, from the folks with the California Film Commission, the California State Parks, the City of Huntington Beach, and some great business owners in the area that rented us surf boards, fed us, and lodged us. We’ve also got video and photography from Texas and Montana, and all the beautiful places we love to go! (Regarding the Biking video: Closed course, professional rider.
